Directions for writing the essay: From the essay questions listed below, choose one and write a 200-300 word essay on separate paper. Your essay must be typed: 12font, double-spaced, with one-inch margins. You will be judged on content, originality, logical sequencing of thought, grammar, spelling, and your ability to follow directions. You are welcome to seek assistance to develop a well-written essay.

A. Qualities of manhood & womanhood – You are assigned to speak before a group of troubled youth. Identify at least three qualities you feel are necessary to inspire them to excel in today’s society. Explain in detail.

B. Go to High School/Go to College – It is obvious that you understand the importance of pursuing higher education. Identify 3 reasons you would use to convince a youth who does not believe that attending high school or college is important to their success and development in life. Explain why.

  • Must be a resident of Montgomery County/Fort Campbell and have applied to any college/university for the fall semester 2025

  • Must be graduating from high school by the summer of 2025

  • Must be able to provide college acceptance prior to receiving the scholarship
  • Must submit high school transcript and copy of test scores with application

    • Must have a minimum 2.5 GPA.
    • Must have a minimum composite score on the following: ACT 17 or SAT 1130

  • Must complete a 200–300-word essay on one of the topics listed on the application

  • Must submit application through email by 11:59 pm on May 1, 2025

The scholarship will be awarded at the beginning of the fall academic semester after verification of enrollment has been presented. The applicant must meet all requirements and submit the application by email by 11:59 pm on May 1, 2025.
